Hi, new friends! I don’t have a lifelong love of fitness as my story. I didn’t play any sports even casually as a kid, later in life when my friends went to Jazzercise I stayed home, and to this day jogging is an activity that escapes my understanding. I didn’t start moving my body with any kind of intention or joy until I was in my mid-40’s, and even then I didn’t enjoy it as much as others did. It wasn’t until I began strength training with weights, and then taking classes with TRX suspension trainers that I began to find joy and intention in moving my body. I wanted to know more, and maybe, if I was lucky, help others find what they might enjoy, so I became certified in multiple strength related disciplines and began to teach classes and work as a personal trainer/health coach. The knowledge and certifications I’ve received and continue to work on are all evidence based, so you’ll likely hear about the latest study I read and how we’re about to incorporate that knowledge into class. #sorrynotsorry I look forward to getting to know you and being a part of your journey to finding joy in movement!
In my free time I love to be outdoors as much as possible, not jogging, and I spend a lot of time with my extended family in other cities. I nerd out on researching family genealogy and reading health and exercise studies, but am just as likely to be binge-watching the Great British Bake-Off or New Girl. I’m a dog person, but there is an adorable cat in my life that I take far too many pictures of and am hoping to leash train so I can be “that” lady in my neighborhood.
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE - no matter your experience level, flexibility, weight, age, race or gender! Fitness is for everybody and every BODY.
